Section 1: Cohort Introduction 

Class Activity: Everyone will quickly share their name and why they joined the M43 program.

 

Section 2: Exploring Different Business Types 

Class Discussion: Give examples of the following business types:

  • Side Gig

  • Side Hustle

  • Lifestyle Business

  • Startup

Group Class Activity: Class members share what category they think their business is in and why. 

 

Section 3: Lean Startup Principle

Review what lean startup means, why it’s important, and provide examples. 

Class Video: LEAN STARTUP IN 5 MINUTES (OR LESS)



Section 4: Positives and Negatives of Entrepreneurship

Class Discussion: Share myths, stories, and facts about becoming an entrepreneur. 

Class Activity: Q&A with former M43 student/entrepreneur 



Homework: 

  • Each student will research competition to their business idea

    1. If student does not have an idea yet, find the top 3 daily/weekly problems that annoy them the most 

  • Be prepared to share why they think their business idea is better or will be more successful 

    1. If a student doesn't have an idea, find 3 possible solutions to the problems they identified. 

  • Schedule a 1-on-1 mentor meeting
