Using The Provided Compatibility-Check Assignment

Summary

A short compatibility-check quiz has been created and made available to be uploaded to your course site. This article explains how to upload it.

Instructors who assigned the ProctorU compatibility-check as a course activity experienced fewer technical issues on exam days. The attachment below contains a three-question Blackboard assessment which asks students to complete the compatibility-check and upload their results. To begin, download the zipped package (do not extract it) then follow the instructions below.

 

Instructions

  1. Under the Course Management menu of your Blackboard course site, expand Course Tools, then click Tests Surveys and Pools.

  2. Select Tests, then click Import Test.

  3. Click the Browse My Computer button and attach the Compatibility Check Assignment.zip file, then click Submit.

  4. Click OK to return to your test bank. You should now be able to see the imported compatibility-check assessment among your tests. You should edit this test and assign as many points as you deem appropriate to the first question. The other questions' point value should remain set to 0.

  5. Deploy the assessment for students. Consider setting the availability of this quiz to expire before the first exam begins. This short quiz is intended to help proactively find and resolve Record+ issues, encourage students to finish it ahead of the first exam.

Consider setting a deadline in the Due Date and the Display Until fields, but do not set any other restrictions for this assignment (e.g. password, time limit, or force completion).
