Manage Canvas Grading Schema
Summary
This article demonstrates how a user can access, view and edit a Grade Scheme in Canvas.
Boise State University does not have an official grading scheme, Faculty are permitted to make alterations to the scheme.
Instructions
Go to the course you wish to edit in Canvas.
In Course Navigation, click the Settings link.
You will default start in the Course Details tab.
Scroll midway down the screen and check the box for “Enable Course Grading Scheme”
Click on Set Grading Scheme link.
A new window will open and will show the Canvas default grading scheme.
There are three options from here:
View / Edit Scheme
Select the Edit pencil-icon in the upper right hand corner of the screen.
A new window will open up with the option to view/edit the current grade scheme.
Select Save when done.
Choose from other available schemes
Click on Select Another Scheme in the upper right hand corner of the screen.
A new window will open up listing different commonly used grading schemes that can be picked from.
Click on the Scheme you wish to see/choose. Click Use This Grading Standard button to choose the scheme.
Select Done.
When done editing the Grading Schema, select the Update Course Details button at the bottom of the page.
