Adding Tables to Blackboard
Instructions
Create a Table
- Navigate to a rich text input and click the Insert/Edit Table icon (3x3 grid).
- A pop up window will appear:
- Type in the number of Columns and Rows you need. Columns and rows can be added or removed later.
- Optionally, set the border width using the Border input, then click Advanced and select the Border Color you want.
Edit Table Properties
If you want to edit a table's properties, place the cursor anywhere within a table and click the Insert/Edit Table icon again.
Adding a Header
- Right click on the top row of a table.
- Select Row > Table Row Properties. A pop-up window will appear.
- Set the Row Type to Header.
- Setting the row type doesn't effect the style of the row. Because of this, you will need to change the style yourself:
- Still in the Table Row Properties pop-up, click on the Advanced tab.
- In the Background Color input, you can select a color to be the background of the table using the color picker to the right of the text input. If you want to use a very light gray, you can copy and paste #EEE into the text input.
- Click Update.
- Select the entire header row again and press Ctrl+B on Windows or Cmd+B on Mac to make the text bold.
