This article guides you through the steps to associate your Blackboard course with Panopto, allowing for a course folder with synced permissions.

  • If your Blackboard course site was requested after July 25, 2020:

    If your Blackboard course site was was requested before July 25, 2020 or does not have the Panopto Tool Link:

    • Click the Panopto Video tool link on the left-hand Blackboard navigation menu for the course

    • Click Configure

    • Click Add Course to Panopto

    • Click Return to Course

If you do not have Panopto Content showing in the Tool area,

go to Course Management > Customization > Tool Availability

    • Click on Tools  on the left-hand Blackboard navigation menu for the course

      Click on the Panopto Content link on the right

      See red X box below if you do not have Panopto Content available in

      the

      Tools area

      The space will display a message that says, "This course is not provisioned with Panopto. Before a course can be used with Panopto it must be set up.”

    • Click Configure

    • Click Add Course to Panopto

    • Click Return to Course

    • Click the refresh button at the top of the left-hand Blackboard navigation menu for the course

    • The Panopto Video tool link should then show up on the menu

Additional information

  • All videos in the course should live in the newly created Panopto course folder to have synced permissions.
