Best Practices with File Storage

Use Google Drive:

• Canvas has an integration with Google. Store all files, docs, pdfs, powerpoints, etc. in your Google Drive. (Google Integration) and use the integration to present the content to the students.

• How do I create a hyperlink or embed a file from Google Drive into the Rich Content Editor as an instructor?

Use Panopto:

Canvas is not optimized for video storage and playback. For this reason, we have invested in Panopto which is a video platform available to all Boise State faculty, staff, and students. Panopto integrates with Canvas for your convenience.

• Video/Media files should be stored on Panopto. Panopto is integrated with Canvas and has unlimited storage.
