This article will guide you through the steps of creating a webcast.

Instructions

  1. Log into your Panopto account here.
  2. Click on the Create button.Click on Webcast.
  3. From the Panopto Recorder, be sure to select an online folder, then check Webcast
  4. Enter the webcast's name, description, and select a folder to put your webcast in.
  5. Click on Create.
  6. After creating your webcast, its settings page will pop up. From here you can customize settings such as the preview image and availability.
  7. Open the Panopto app on your computer.
  8. Click on the Webcast check box at the upper right corner.
  9. Click on Join Session and choose the newly created webcast.
  10. When you are ready to record To start the broadcast, click on the Record button. Click on the button again to stop recordingYour webcast will begin. To let others view the webcast, click on Copy or Share to share the link to your webcastTo end the live broadcast, click the Stop button. Your recording will then complete and upload to the server
  11. A viewer URL is generated after your broadcast starts. This URL can share through the web user interface by clicking Share. Clicking Copy will copy the URL to your Windows clipboard.
  12. Users may login to the Panopto website to view any live broadcasts that may be available at that time.
  13. To do this, go to your Panopto server's website and click the live session that you would like to watch. If access to the content is restricted to certain viewers, they will have to login with their credentials.
  14. The viewer can click on the session and a viewer window will open just as it would if the lecture had been previously recorded.
  15.  You can easily seek through a live broadcast to any time by dragging the slider, even if you join late. To catch up and watch the broadcast live, click the LIVE button as seen above. You may also continue to watch the live broadcast even after it has ended.
